Product Disappointment: Pacifica Sundreams Lotus-Infused Bronzer Duo

Pacifica is just one of those holy grail brands that have been in my beauty arsenal for years. With that said, it's rare for me to dislike a product, let alone feel completely disappointed. It's even more uncommon for me to purchase a product knowing I probably won't like it. Well, guys - it's happened.

I purchased the Pacifica Sundreams Lotus-Infused Bronzer Duo whilst cringing at the color. I don't use bronzer the way I used to - slathered all over the face - I use it as a contour. The matte bronzer side just looks so warm. I knew it wouldn't work, but I also knew I had to try it.

Um, hi? My tiny-ish contour brush (courtesy of Ecotools) was almost bigger than the product! Let's not forget this is supposed to be a 2-in-1. My brush barely fit in either side.

Here they are swatched on my hand. While the highlight looks perfectly fine, the bronzer has a pink hue to it making it, in my opinion, rather unflattering.

I know it's hard to tell, but I am wearing the bronzer on my face as a contour - along my forehead & temples, down the sides of my nose, along my jawline, & in the hollows of my cheeks, as well as in my crease. Believe me, it didn't look nice. It accentuated the redness in my skin, which is pretty much why I wear makeup in the first place.

I will say, however, that this will work fine as an eyeshadow duo. The size works for smaller eyeshadow brushes, so I did find a way to use the product anyway.

To end on a positive note, I would like to recommend the Pacifica Solar Palette - not just because the bronzer is actually, you know, the right color, but because it's a great item to have in your makeup collection.
