Beauty Review: Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation

It really feels like FOREVER since I've put up a beauty review! Now that I'm working full time (and then some), I'm getting back into the swing of things, blogging-wise. Today's review is on the most expensive face makeup product I've ever bought: Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation, which I purchased from Whole Foods for $29.99. It's a steep price, but spoiler alert: TOTALLY worth the splurge!

I love that Whole Foods offers testers, which made shade-matching a breeze. I'm in the shade warm 2, but just a heads up - their shades seem to run a bit cool, despite the name.

I also appreciate the sleek, high-end packaging that actually feels of a substantial weight. That is probably due to the metal packaging rather than plastic. Another win is that it includes a lovely & convenient mirror.

Let's get into the product. Now, I tried & tried to take pics of my face to share, but since I get ready at the ass-crack of dawn, lighting was not my friend. So, please use your imagination.

The finish of this powder foundation is definitely matte & the coverage is sheer to medium, depending on how much you build it up. I find that I can't seem to get full coverage, but once I do the rest of my face, for some reason, the coverage seems to be better. Magic.

Because I'm usually in a hurry, I don't add concealer. This functions even as an under-eye concealer, though the brightness factor is pretty much zero. The texture, however, is smooth & silky, applies super easily, with a little going a long way. I also find that with or without primer (I usually just use a sheer translucent powder), the powder holds up well & my face doesn't get as oily as quickly. I always set with a setting powder anyway, so I'm sure it's a contributing factor.

Overall, this has been such a great product & I'm super happy with it! I've been using it daily for nearly a month with a nary a dent - it still looks fresh & new. Even when I start using liquid foundation in the Fall, I will definitely reach for this as my pressed powder!
